This fall, we’ve teamed up with The Unscented Company to help you take care of your bedding in a sustainable way for cozy nights and a healthier environment. Here is how to do it...

Know the fabric

Before getting new bedding, we recommend doing a bit of research to know which fabric is most adapted to your lifestyle and needs. As a general rule, we recommend investing in sheets made of natural fibers, and at Maison Tess., this is the case for all our sheets! High-quality bed sheets, if properly cared for, can last for many years. We suggest taking a look at our care policy and following the right instructions for your bedding, whether it’s in Percale, Sateen, Muslin, Coco Linen or Washed Linen.

Switch your detergent

Choosing the right detergent is a small step that can considerably reduce your environmental footprint. The Unscented Company detergent contains only 9 ingredients and is 90% biodegradable! It is also fragrance free, hypoallergenic and gentle on the skin. Once you finish your detergent bottle, use one of their refill boxes and save plastic!

Cold cycle

A cold cycle in the washing machine means saving energy, and preserving the colour of your sheets. Cold water is also known to be a better option for removing stains.

Dryer Balls

Did you know? Dryer balls can reduce drying time by 25% while also removing static and reducing wrinkles. We love The Unscented Company ones, which are made in Canada by Moss Creek Wool Works. They’re an eco-friendly alternative to fabric softener and dryer sheets, and are also compostable. It’s the last step to taking care of your comfy linen sheets in a sustainable way!
