Our luxe percale sheets are made in Europe, from 100% long-staple cotton. “Percale” refers to a signature tight weaving method, in which the threads cross over and under each other, one at a time. The tight weave results in several remarkable characteristics: its finish is matte, crisp and cool, and it boasts a “buttery” feel that’s smooth to the touch. Throw in the fact that our percale is stonewashed,and the result is ultimate comfort that only gets softer with every wash and a perfect “worn-in” vibe.

Thread count isn’t all it’s stacked up to be. Here are three reasons we’re over high thread count sheets.

1. Why is thread count such a big deal? The 1,000 + thread count sheet was only invented in the early 2000’s as a marketing tool companies used to set themselves apart from the competition.

2. High count doesn’t always mean high quality. Some companies make threads thinner so they can tell you the thread count is higher. Why is this bad? It means you’re paying more for a sheet that isn’t even better quality, #nothanks.

3. What sets Tess. apart? High thread count with poor quality thread means thick, unbreathable fabrics that can make you overheat and leave you tossing and turning all night. At Maison Tess, we choose quality over thread count, our percale cotton is weaved to perfection to give you that crisp, cool, soft feel that will make you want to hit snooze… again.

Linen is the oldest and most desired natural fabric in the world: known thanks to its excellent quality, wicking properties, such as being hypoallergenic and sustainable its also breathable. This fabric has been pre-washed several times, it boasts a vintage-like look and is known for its super low-maintenance vibe. Part of linen’s allure is that it’s meant to look lived-in. Need we say more, really?

We are proud to partner with an award-winning linen and textile manufacturer, whose linen is sourced from a world-renowned flax cultivators, widely recognized for its high standards of sustainability and social responsibility.

Our linen is manufactured in Lithuania and woven from 100% French flax, hailing from the Normandy region, where the best linen flowers grow. The flax and linen cultivator we collaborate with is a committed cooperative specialized in the culture and conversion of textile flax and linen from seeds to fiber. We love that this cooperative values environmental friendliness, transparency and fairness when it comes to its members. The cooperative farmers and employees are rooted in their land and culture: they share the same unique expertise and passion for flax, and are committed to quality and innovation.

All of our fabrics are Oeko-Tex Standard 100-Certified. This means that the fabrics, as well as the people involved in their production and the dyes used, are all non-toxic to humans and the environment.

Both our cotton and linen products are garment dyed and washed several times, using a stonewash technique that includes special pumice stones. This leaves them feeling ultra-soft with a vintage-like faded look. The fact that they have been pre-washed so many times also ensures that you will have close to no shrinkage of fabric ones you wash your sheets.

Wash your percale sheets with a gentle detergent (avoid chlorine bleach or detergent that has whitening agents) at a maximum of 60°C (140°F). Air dry or tumble dry on medium or low heat; do not over dry. Tip: gently shake out any creasing that may have occurred in the wash cycle. Ironing is optional and in our opinion, totally not necessary.

If you need to remove any stains, keep in mind that the cotton has been dyed with reactive dyes, so bleach or aggressive stain removal treatments can impact its color. Thanks to the stone wash process, the items have been dyed and washed multiple times, so shrinkage won’t occur.

All sheets must be returned in perfect condition. Sheets that have noticeable marks of wear & tear will not be reimbursed as our wish remains to donate them to people in need.

Exchanges are accepted within 7 days of purchase. All items must be received with their original packaging prior to processing any exchange. For hygienic reasons, only un-used items will be accepted. Please note that Sale items , Towels as well as Baby Tess. items are non exchangeable. Cost of shipping for exchanges are to be covered by the customer.
